Monroeville, PA – January 2021 Energy Swing Windows has been presented with the prestigious Better Business Bureau 2020 Torch Award for Business Ethics. Energy Swing was singled out for this honor from the Better Business Bureau's more than 3,200 member companies in 28 Western PA counties. They are the only company to win this award four consecutive times – in 2008, 2012, 2016 & 2020 (a company is only eligible to win every four years).
The Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Business Ethics was created to promote the importance of ethical business practices and to recognize the willingness and effort made by outstanding businesses to assure that our marketplace remains fair and honorable for all. The winners of this award have organizations that build lasting trust among their employees, customers and their communities.
“For more than 20 years, Energy Swing Windows has been delivering great experiences, not just great products, to those who decide to invest with them to meet their window, door and basement needs,” said Warren King, President of the Better Business Bureau of Western PA. “You all work together to have a team of dedicated people that strive to do business totally different from any other replacement specialty company in Western PA. Inside and outside of the organization, it is all about treating people with Honor, Dignity and Respect. You go the extra mile to deliver Peace of Mind to your customers, which is your ultimate goal. To quote Energy Swing owner Steve Rennekamp: “Growth takes the right people unselfishly working together focused on doing the right things for the customer and each other.”
Warren continued, "Out of 180 points that applicants are judged on, Energy Swing’s entry this year garnished 170. Since the inception of our local BBB Torch Award for Ethics in 2006, the 170 points is the highest score given by the judges - all college professors teaching business ethics. It seems basic enough, but in today’s world when change seems to be the only constant, standards are critical for advancing trust in the marketplace and ensuring both integrity and performance."
According to one of the judges, Professor James Weber, Director of Duquesne's Institute for Ethics in Business, “As seen over the years, this company embraces ethical business practices in every aspect of their business dealings and interactions. Grounded in a strong ethical culture manifested by its owner, each employee advances this vision with each potential and actual customer. Multiple evidence of ethical practice is embedded in the company’s Torch Award application, including an employee ethics survey, 360-degree feedback to employees, accountability at work and intense attention to customer education and satisfaction.”
Owner Steve Rennekamp proudly accepted the award from Warren King in the company's new Design Center in Monroeville. Due to covid-19 restrictions, the presentation was limited to only a few attendees. However, it was recorded so all employees, family, friends and peers can share in the achievement. Energy Swing will now move on to participate in the competition for the International Torch Award for Business Ethics.
Energy Swing has a solid reputation for being active in the community, but even more, has proven it is a trustworthy company in an industry where that is hard to come by. Energy Swing Windows provides a superior product in its easy–to-clean, most energy-efficient window on the market. They sell, manufacture and install their products using only company employees-no subcontractors- and boast the industry’s only true Lifetime Warranty, with no exceptions and no fine print. In addition to windows, Energy Swing offers beautiful entry doors and patio doors. Three years ago, they also made the decision to expand their offerings to include Total Basement Finishing. Additional awards they’ve earned include the 2013 Pittsburgh Business Ethics Award and 2011 Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year. Steve Rennekamp is also very active in JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) fundraising. Over the last eight years, Energy Swing Windows has raised over $75,000 to support this cause.
